With its wide sandy beach, rolling dunes, and striped red chalk cliffs, Old Hunstanton is a favourite spot for a classic day by the sea. Buckets and spades on the sand, walks along the coast path, and plenty of fresh sea air. It’s the sort of place people return to summer after summer.
Old Hunstanton
It would be rude not to start here… Old Hunstanton Beach is known for its wide sands, grassy dunes, and big Norfolk skies. At low tide the beach stretches far into the distance, leaving plenty of room for long walks, beach games, and sea air. It’s a favourite spot for families, dog walkers, and anyone looking for a classic day by the coast.
Holme Beach
A little further along the coast, Holme Beach feels wonderfully open and untamed. Backed by dunes and marshland, it’s a peaceful stretch of sand where wildlife is never far away. The views across the Wash are wide and uninterrupted.
Wells-next-the-Sea Beach
One of Norfolk’s best-loved beaches, Wells-next-the-Sea is famous for its colourful beach huts and long sweep of golden sand. Pinewoods line the edge of the shore, and the open space makes it a favourite for families
Heacham
Heacham Beach is known for its big skies and striking sunsets over the Wash. The gently shelving shoreline makes it a popular place for paddling, sailing, and evening walks when the light begins to fade.
Dogs are always welcome here. After a run along the beach (which is dog-friendly all year round) or an adventure on the coastal paths, there’s plenty of room to settle in with your four-legged companion. Water bowls are on hand, sandy paws are no trouble, and there’s usually a friendly nose or two by the bar. We’re a pub that’s just as happy to see dogs as we are their owners.
